The climate-neutral and low-emission alternative to OSB

elka Strong Board

elka esb - (elka strong board)

esb Späne aus Fichte

Only 100% spruce raw wood goes into our esb

- smell the difference!

What makes our esb board so special?

Like a good cake, it all depends on the recipe and the ingredients. Only fresh wood chips from domestic spruces are used in our esb boards and most of these come from our own sawmill - without long journeys.

That makes all the difference and many of our customers say you can really smell it. In our boards, you won't find any recycling wood of unknown origin or pine wood, which already contains terpenes that some people are allergic to.

All our experience from 60 years of chipboard production went into the development of the esb, and that is what makes it so unique.

We currently offer four different types of esb:

  • esb standard (formaldehyde content E1E05),

  • esb Plus (formaldehyde content ≤ 0.03 ppm), Blue Angel and Sentinel House certified

  • esb Cross-beam (built-in part for fixing higher loads)

  • #esbReno ( the small esb board, specifically designed for attic renovations)

Installation parts for fastening higher loads to walls in dry construction, for example, with CW profiles with the esb standard board.

Our new #esbReno is perfectly suited for attic renovations due to its size. Narrow staircases and small roof hatches are no longer a problem.

Important notes on transport and storage

The moisture content of elka-esb P5 is approx. 9% ex works. During transport and storage, 13% wood moisture must not be exceeded. Make sure that the boards are stored level and horizontal on a dry surface. Before installation, the boards must be stored in the installation room for several days to allow for climate adaptation.
